There are even rumors of a 7-year itch. Not in these parts, thank you very much.
And now, thanks to a tag from Heather at Nobody-But-Yourself, here are 7 random things about me:
1. I majored in Meteorology for my first two years in college, but by junior year I switched to journalism. In the end, I realized I didn’t want to drag my family from one small town to another just so that I could point at a pretend map for a living.
Honestly, I really don’t know what I was thinking. I get stage fright going up for Communion. My first time in front of the camera would have been a meltdown along the lines of Chernobyl.
I still find weather fascinating though, and I proudly belong to The Cloud Appreciation Society. Stop laughing.
2. My parents saved for years to take me and my brother on a family European Vacation (National Lampoon reference completely intentional – “look kids, Big Ben, Parliament!”). First stop, Paris. We did all the touristy things, including the Eiffel Tower – which I flat out refused to go up. At 13 you think you have a lifetime ahead of you to travel to Paris again and somehow find the guts to do it.
Now I can’t check Paris off my Life To-Do List until I take the ride to the top. Stupid teenager.
3. No one, and I mean no one, can touch my calves. Completely ruins pedicures for me. And if there is a language barrier with the manicurist, it’s pure Hell. When I hear those giggles coming from the other room, I’m pretty sure they’re laughing at the neurotic freak in massage chair 2.
4. I have a girl crush on Diane Lane.
5. I still cry when I think of poor Princess Diana. Now that I’m older than she was when she died, it hurts my heart even more. She missed so much.
6. I have lived in Texas for over 20 years, and other than the people, I still cannot for the life of me fall in love with this state (sorry Texas Holly!).
7. I have a deep seeded fear of frogs. You just don’t know where those suckers are going to jump!
